Painting travel inspiration Venice Alley at Ramo Va in Campo by Ines Miller. Art home decor.

Painting travel inspiration Venice Alley at Ramo Va in Campo  by Ines Miller.

Art home decor.

The process, doubts, and persistence to  keep moving forward to create the Venice painting.

"The challenges present themselves in many forms and shapes. This painting was fun to create but took me the longest to complete. The street textures and the broken  stucco on the walls were prominent features I wanted to preserve, and as time was place into the canvas the painting adopted  its own essence. The memories were triggered to my trip to Venice as my reference image was my own photo.

During this painting  creation  a wise artist once told me, “Don’t rush it; some paintings need more time to be born.” … I am glad I listened.

After three months of work, I'm happy that I let it rest when needed. I happyidly present my piece, 'The Alley at Ramp Va in Campo Venice, Italy.' It had a fast start, being featured at the Merc Gallery in Temecula, California, in June 2024."

Voices for the Innocent Art- Southwest key housing facility accused of sexually abusing children.

Dark Side: Inviting you to a glimpse of my dark side. (Viewer discretion is advised.)

Sometimes, I willingly walk into the dark side, sit with the shadows of disturbing realities, and then thank them for the experience given and the strength I have gained for such experiences, and then I leave closing that door until the next meeting …Today is  one of those days.

Oh, believe me, myself and several groups of artists have paintings regarding this hole in our society, paintings   that perhaps will never see the light of day. But as a child survivor of physical and sexual abuse, this topic still resides in the shadows of my life and will use my art  to expose such actions.

Because predators are not always strangers but sadly and disturbingly close friends and family members... as a society, we remain silent and pretend that sweeping abuse under an 'imaginary rug' or 'hiding it in the closet' will make it non-existent.

As an artist and art advocate, I, along with other artists, have spent years searching, proposing, and imploring our local cities to host an art exhibit raising consciousness on this topic: 'Voices for the Innocent,' to raise awareness and honor the victims and survivors.

Our efforts to secure a venue for such an exhibit have been unsuccessful, which is unsettling but a harsh reality. I believe that with the support of a sponsor or foundation willing to provide a venue, this exhibit could come to fruition.

For now, I am displaying art by myself and my friend Terese Daniels as a visual expression of the sense of helplessness that arises, especially when actions come from organizations meant to protect the innocent, such as the one mentioned below.

If you are an artist and would like to participate in this online awareness please contact me privately to discuss details.

Cats are inquisitive by nature, but this Michi really likes the gossip!

Cats are inquisitive by nature, but this Michi really likes the gossip!

Cats are known for their curiosity due to a combination of evolutionary,

 biological, and behavioral factors:

1. Hunting Instinct: Cats are natural predators, and their curiosity helps them explore their environment to find potential prey.

2. Survival Mechanism: Exploring their surroundings helps cats stay aware of potential dangers, ensuring their safety.

3. Sensory Stimulation: Cats have highly developed senses, and their curiosity allows them to engage with their environment through sight, sound, and smell.

4. Playfulness: Especially in young cats, curiosity is part of play behavior, which helps them develop physical and cognitive skills.

5. Intelligence: Cats are intelligent animals, and their curiosity is a sign of their need for mental stimulation and enrichment.

These factors combined make curiosity a vital aspect of a cat's life, helping them thrive in various environments.

Menifee California Fourth of July festival celebration. Ines Miller Menifee Artist waiting for kettle popcorn!

Our Menifee California city organizes a wonderful event during this time of the year. A sense of belonging, community and service with several non profits enriching residents lives with this event. The wait for kettle popcorn was over an hour …but worth the wait!

July 4th, 1776… United States of America established for the first time in world history a new nation based on the First Principles of the rule of law, equity, unalienable rights, limited government, the Social Compact, equality, and the right to alter or abolish oppressive government.

An infiltrator came to melt the pot down! Clay pieces ruined. Kiln potter meltdown.

 Reflections on Pottery Ceramics

Pottery has taught me many lessons, particularly about understanding my strengths and limitations. One crucial aspect is recognizing the diverse temperature ranges of clay—low-fire clay cannot endure high temperatures intended for high-fire clay.

The difference between this types of clay is subtle; visually, they may appear indistinguishable at first glance. Proper marking and labeling are essential to differentiate between low-fire and high-fire clay.

In shared studios, like public pottery spaces, clay from different sources may inadvertently mix. This blending can lead to unforeseen consequences.

Consider this example: a low-fire piece mistakenly entered a high-fire kiln. The outcome? It ruined not only my five pieces but also an adjacent pillar, an additional piece belonging to another studio member, and a Canadian $500 plus  custom-made shelf.

Working with pottery entails embracing uncertainty; each stage carries its risks, and completing a piece feels like receiving a precious gift.

What's the moral of this tale? Let's discuss and share insights together.
